Biography:

Dr. France Ng was born in the city of Port Louis on the Island of Mauritius on January 24th 1937.  Dr. Ng’s birth name is France Ng Wong Hing.  His parents were Youmoye (Liu) and John Ng Wong Hing.  He was the youngest of 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls.  Dr. Ng attended the École De La Salle for his primary education then attended the Royal College Port Louis for his secondary school education.

Dr. Ng went to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and graduated M.D. in 1966.  He returned to practice medicine on the Island of Mauritius.  Dr. Ng married Rosemay Chung Su Yuen on the 11th of August, 1969 in Curepipe, Mauritius. After his marriage, Dr. and Mrs. Ng moved to England where he spent one year working at Central Middlesex Hospital London.

In 1970, Dr. and Mrs. Ng immigrated to Canada and initially settled in Hamilton, Ontario where he worked in a family clinic.  The family, which included daughter Mirella moved to Dresden and Dr. Ng opened a family practice on the 14th of June, 1971.  Their son Jerry was born in Chatham, after they moved to Dresden.

Dr. Ng was recognized in achieving a 40 year service award milestone by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.  He has a life-long commitment to his community and joined a brand new health clinic in Dresden in 2012.  He continues to look after multi-generations of families in Chatham-Kent.

In his spare time, Dr. Ng enjoys cycling, the theatre, music, reading and travelling with his wife Rosemay.  Mirella and her husband Dr. Eric Leong live in Toronto with their daughter Leianna.  Jerry Ng also lives in Toronto and Dr. and Mrs. Ng make frequent trips to see their family, both in Toronto and in Mauritius.
