Biography:

Dr. Michael Allan Scott was born on the 20th of July, 1938 in Cheam, Surrey, England.   Dr. Scott was the eldest of 4 children born to Dr. George Allan Scott and the former Frances Olive Burrough.  In 1939, the Scott family resided at 5 Shirley Avenue in Cheam.  Dr. Scott’s siblings were; Frances Scott, Nicola Scott and Adrian Scott.   On the 15th of March, 1950, the Scott family set sail from Liverpool, England bound for Halifax, Canada aboard the “Empress of Canada” ship.  They settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  His father, Dr. George Allan Scott served as a Lt Col with the Royal Air Force.

Dr. Michael A. Scott received his post secondary education at Fort William Collegiate Institute in Thunder Bay. He graduated M.D. in 1961 from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Dr. Scott interned at Hamilton General Hospital and the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

His wife, Dr. G. E. Eileen (Muir) Scott also received her M.D. in 1961 from Queen’s University and she interned at Hamilton General Hospital. She was born in Niagara-On-The-Lake, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Muir. Her high school had been Stamford Collegiate in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Dr. Scott initially set up his medical practice in Bothwell, Ontario and his wife practiced at the Southwestern Regional Centre in Cedar Springs. In August of 1966, Dr. Scott moved his medical practice to Chatham, Ontario.  According to the 1967 Vernon’s City of Chatham Business Directory Dr. Scott’s medical practice was located at 19 Third Street.  In 1968, the Scott family resided at 6 Partridge Crescent.

Dr. Scott and his wife, Dr. Eileen Scott had 3 children; Michael, Christopher and Karen.

In his spare time, Dr. Scott enjoyed playing golf.

Dr. Scott died in Kamloops, British Columbia on the 7th of November, 2021.
