Biography:

Dr. David Frederick Eaton was born in Cornwall, Ontario on the 1st of June, 1947.  Dr. Eaton’s parents were Fred and Ola (Easterbrooks) Eaton.  His father worked at the local paper mill in the shipping department.  Dr. Eaton has an older brother, Dr. Gerald Eaton (who practices in medicine in Calgary), and 2 older sisters, Sharon (who has her doctorate in nursing), and Sandra (who is also a nurse) and a younger sister named Debbie (who is a teacher).

Dr. Eaton attended Central Public School in Cornwall for Kindergarten and grade 1.  He attended Memorial Park Public School from grade 2 to grade 6 and then went back to Central Park Public School for grades 7 and 8.  Dr. Eaton attended Cornwall Collegiate & Vocation School (C.C.V.S.) and graduated from grade 13 in 1965.  He went on to Queen’s University and graduated with his B.A. in 1968.  Dr. Eaton attended the University of Ottawa and graduated with his M.D. in 1972.  Dr. Eaton interned at Toronto Western Hospital from 1972 until 1973.

Dr. Eaton married Joyce Bothwright on September 1st, 1973 in Caledonia.  Mrs. Eaton is the daughter of Harold and Isabelle (Lang) Bothwright.  She was raised on a farm near Caledonia, with her 2 older sisters and a younger brother.  Mrs. Eaton graduated from the University of Guelph B.Sc. (Honors) and went on to get a Masters Degree in nutrition from Cornell University.

Dr. Eaton gained some clinical experience in Oshawa, before moving to Tilbury in 1974.  In 1975, Dr. and Mrs. Eaton moved to Wheatley, where Dr. Eaton joined Dr. Edwin McLean in his busy practice, located at 52 Erie St., North.

Dr. Eaton moved to 26 Erie St. S. in Wheatley in 1985.  Mrs. Eaton, went on to law school at the University of Windsor and graduated L.L.B. in 1980.  She was called to the bar in 1982.  Mrs. Eaton’s law practice is located in the same building as her husband’s medical practice.

Dr. and Mrs. Eaton have a daughter Hope, who is also a lawyer.  She practices law in Wheatley with her mother.

Dr. Eaton was a member of the Thamesview Family Health Team.  He enjoys golfing and skiing with his family.

Dr. Eaton retired from his family medical practice on the 31st of December, 2022.
