Biography:

Dr. George Ernest Ryan Vaughan was born in Madras, India.  Dr. Vaughan’s parents were Dr. Ernest Vaughan and the former Thelma Carvalho.  His father was a physician in Reading, England.  Dr. George Ernest Ryan Vaughan graduated with a  B.A. from Cambridge University in 1958 and MBB CHIR in 1961 from Cambridge University.

Dr. Vaughan married Dr. Veronica Clough on the 3rd of September, 1966 in Yorkshire, England.  She was born on the 2nd of April, 1942 in Canterbury, England, the daughter of Colin Clough and the former Margaret Reynolds.  Dr. Veronica Clough graduated from Durham University Medical School in 1965.  Dr. and Dr. Vaughan immigrated to Canada in 1968.  They had 3 children; Rupert, Helen and Vanessa.

When he immigrated to Canada, Dr. George Vaughan became a research fellow in surgery at Queen’s University in Kingston, while Dr. Veronica Vaughan completed a residency at Queen’s University.

Dr. and Dr. Vaughan moved to Wallaceburg, Ontario in 1978.  Dr. George Vaughan became the Chief of Surgery at the Sydenham District Hospital and Dr. Veronica Vaughan specialized in anesthesia.  He was the President of the Kent County Medical Society in 1990.

Dr. Vaughan enjoys boating and vintage cars in his spare time.

Dr. Veronica Vaughan died on the 28th of October, 2010 and she was buried at Riverview Cemetery in Wallaceburg.
