Biography:

Dr. Peter Lamont Graham was born on the 25th of March, 1845 in Lobo Twp., Middlesex County.  He was the son of Duncan P.Graham and the former Christina Lamont.  He was from a family of 10 children.  His siblings included, Donald, Jane,  Catherine, Duncan, Annie, Christine, Archibald Duncan (who became a physician and practiced in Bothwell and is also featured on the Chatham Kent Physician Tribute), Mary and Isabelle.  According to the 1882 Ontario Medical Register, Dr. Graham became a Member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons on the 8th of May, 1877 and noted that he was practicing in Bothwell.

Dr. Graham married Mary Agnes Reid on the 3rd of January, 1878 in Bothwell, Ontario.  Mrs Graham was born on the 13th of July, 1856 in Ingersol, the daughter of Colin Reid and the former Mary Galbraith.  She was the eldest of 8 children.  Her siblings were Peter, Flora, Colin Jr., Maggie, Annie, Donald and John.  According to the 1901 census, the Reid family immigrated to Canada in 1855 and by the 1881 census, they had settled in Bothwell, Ontario.  Mr. Reid was a manufacturer.

Dr. Graham is listed in the 1880 Kent Directory as practicing in Bothwell.

According to the 1881 census, Dr. and Mrs. Graham lived at Lot 12, Concession 4, Lobo Twp in Middlesex County.  Dr. and Mrs. Graham had 4 children, a daughter Ella and 3 sons, Rosco, Stanley and Wilfred.  Stanley and Wilfred were twins and both served in World War I.  All 3 sons became doctors.

Dr. Graham resided at Lot 12, Conc 4 Lobo Twp., until his death on the 4th of November, 1928.  Mrs. Graham died on the 12th of June 1929.  At the time of her death she resided at 1193 Richmond Street in London.  Dr. and Mrs. Graham are buried at the Melville United Cemetery, Ivan, Middlesex Co.
