Biography:

Dr. David William Klein was born in St Thomas, Ontario on the 13th of April 1954.  Dr. Klein was the youngest of 3 children born to William and Betty (Grieve) Klein.  He has a sister named Lynne and a brother named Michael. Dr. Klein’s family moved to Thamesville, when he was still a small child. Dr. Klein attended Thamesville Public School and he attended Lambton Kent Secondary School in Dresden, Ontario.

Dr. Klein, attended Queen’s University and he graduated with a degree in biochemistry, before attending The University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. He graduated M.D. in 1979.  He interned at Toronto General Hospital from 1979 to 1980.

Dr. Klein met his wife Janet (York) Klein at Wellsley Hospital when he was a medical student and Janet worked there as an R.N. (Mrs. Klein graduated from Ryerson.) They were married on the 28th of June, 1980 in Toronto. They have two children, Robert and Elizabeth.

Dr. Klein first practiced medicine in Tilbury for 7 months, before moving to Merlin and opening a family medical practice there in April of 1981. Mrs. Klein, had never been west of London, Ontario before moving to Kent County. For the first two years, Dr. and Mrs. Klein worked together without any other help in the practice, until the children were born.

After many years of service to the citizens of Chatham-Kent, Dr. Klein retired from his family medical practice in December of 2008. Dr. and Mrs. Klein moved to the Bobcaygeon area. They enjoy travelling, gardening, walking and collecting old books.
